Welcome to Yarn and Friends. My name is Lee. This is the blog to support my etsy shop: Yarn & Friends. Yarn & Friends sells hand-dyed yarns and rovings as well as craft-related accessories like stitch markers. You can find updates about what I'm adding to my shop here as well as general bloggy goodness about my current knitting projects. I promise there will be no obnoxious sales tactics! Currently I'm preparing for a fresh round of dyeing with some new colorways I've developed, so for now please enjoy a photo of my very first dye job, taken a year ago:

This is a hank of fingering weight. The Black Cherry was actually very bright and rather cheerful.
Spring always energizes me. Each spring I get excited and gear up for a new slew of craft projects. I'm about to abandon a pair of selbuvotter mittens in favor of some spring knits. I have some lovely dark green Takhi Stacy wool/silk waiting to be knit up into the cardigan on the cover of the Spring Interweave Knits. My dog Spike is begging me for his very own Weasley sweater. Don't worry, Spike is kept far away from my yarn.
In anticipation of spring I have a big butterfly thing going on right now. I got a butterfly tattoo last weekend after 17 years of waffling about getting one. I won't show a photo here because some people are turned off by tattoos, but I'll just say that after almost 40 years Barbie and I finally have something in common.

I continued my butterfly theme when I discovered this website. Giant comic-book geek that I am, I just had to give it a try. You can be a superhero too!
